International Women’s Day 2026: Honoring Women’s Power and Progress

Dear Women,
Happy Women’s Day.

Behind every successful man, there is a woman who has sacrificed her time, dreams, comfort, and sometimes even her own ambitions for the happiness of her family.

A woman is the pillar that holds the family together. She gives her love and dedication to her husband, children, and later to her grandchildren. Her entire life is built around caring for others.

But today, I want to highlight one important thought.

Women who work or run a business often live a more independent and confident life compared to those who depend on someone else financially.

And I strongly believe that it is time for this to change for millions of homemakers in India.

Before marriage, many women ask their father for money.
After marriage, they ask their husband.
Later in life, they may depend on their children.

Why should this continue when women are capable of creating their own income and financial independence?

When it is your money, it is truly your choice.
You can spend it, save it, invest it, or support someone you love — without needing permission.

India has nearly 16–18 crore homemakers. Imagine the transformation if even a small percentage of them start earning from home.

Even if each homemaker earns just ₹10,000 per month, and if 16 crore women start a small business, it would create nearly ₹1.6 lakh crore of income every month.

That means around ₹19–20 lakh crore of additional economic activity every year.

This alone can significantly boost India’s GDP.

But the impact goes far beyond numbers.

When women earn, families become stronger.
Children get better education.
Families build savings and investments.
Financial stress reduces.

Over the next 20 years, millions of families can move from financial survival to financial prosperity.

And when millions of families prosper, the nation becomes stronger.

India becoming a global economic powerhouse will not come only from natural resources, oil, or minerals.

India’s greatest strength is its people.

And one of the most powerful untapped forces in our country is its homemakers.

If even a portion of these women become entrepreneurs or income earners, India can witness one of the largest economic transformations in history.

Today technology has made this easier than ever before.

Some powerful options include:

  • Insurance and Investment Advisory – one of the most lucrative opportunities with flexible hours and recurring income.
  • Online reselling through platforms like Meesho or Instagram
  • Home tiffin or cloud kitchen services
  • Online tuition or skill coaching
  • Content creation on YouTube or Instagram
  • Handmade products like pickles, candles, chocolates, or crafts
  • Freelancing in digital skills

Even earning an additional ₹10,000–₹20,000 per month can bring a huge change in a family’s financial strength.

This Women’s Day, let us encourage every homemaker to take the first step towards financial independence.
